Job Details

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is looking for an enthusiastic professional to join its busy Planning Development Team.

Working at a senior level within the Team, you will play a key role in delivering an effective service across all aspects of planning development. You will be a highly motivated individual with a passion for planning and capable of working under challenging timescales.

Reporting to the Planning and Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supervising a number of small teams, supporting team members in terms of their direction, performance and development.

Role Reporting

  • you will have a team of up to 4 - 6 direct reports and be responsible for a total of 9 - 16 staff
  • you will be reporting directly to the Planning Development Manager

About You

You will need to demonstrate experience in all aspects of Planning Development, including managing and giving direction on complex applications, appeals experience, and attendance at committee meetings. You will need to be extremely organised, able to take responsibility for your own work, and able to contribute to the overall team performance.

Good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills are essential, along with expert working knowledge of relevant legislation, planning policy and guidance.

Job Package

  • £61,097 - £65,969 per annum salary
  • 17.4% pension contribution
  • 28.5 days, plus bank holidays
