Amy Wallace

Housing Strategy Officer

About

Amy is an architect who specialises in large scale, mixed-use residential projects. She is passionate about people and their home environments – centring the end user in the design process. Before becoming an Associate, Amy worked at Hawkins\Brown, whose design ethos complimented her values. Whilst there, she has worked on multiple residential, build-to-rent and co-living projects. Alongside her design work, she chaired the practice’s Corporate Social Responsibility group and was involved in mentoring and outreach.

She is acutely aware of the growing housing crisis and wants to help address this across her career. Amy hopes to advocate for a fairer and more diverse built environment through all aspects of her work.

Cornwall Council

During my time as a Housing Strategy Officer at Cornwall Council I have worked on a variety of strategic and supply projects across the Council’s Housing Revenue Account (HRA) and General Fund (GF). I have liaised with developers and contractors to support the completion and handover of homes into the HRA, utilising and expanding my existing knowledge of construction and contractual processes. I have provided design support in creating various strategic documents for the team including a Delivery Implementation Plan, an emerging Homelessness and Rough Sleeper Strategy document, a Shared Ownership Process map and a Specification review document. Alongside these workstreams, I have been engaged with Governance processes: drafting reports to implement grant spending to secure homes for specific user groups.
