Yanqi Wang

Yanqi is trained in both social anthropology and marketing, giving her a distinctive lens for understanding communities, places, and people, while communicating that insight strategically. Her research interests span weddings, photography, food, care, memory, and communal eating spaces.

Before joining the team, she worked in online retail management, developing tailored growth strategies. Alongside her work, Yanqi has volunteered with charities supporting autistic children, mental health, food education, and carers. With Carers UK, she built an interactive Volunteer Mapping Tool and led analysis of volunteer engagement data to inform future support programmes.

Yanqi joined Public Practice in May 2026 as Project Coordinator, supporting the administration and coordination of programmes, communications, and data management across the Associate Programme, from delivering accessible events and managing applicant data to providing community support and contributing to recruitment and assessment processes.
