About

Pooja co-founded Public Practice in 2017 to help strengthen the public sector’s ability to shape better, fairer places. She trained as an architect and has worked across planning and regeneration in both the public and private sectors, including at the Greater London Authority and Homes England, as well as in practice in London and New York.

Alongside Public Practice, Pooja co-founded the social equality platform Sound Advice and co-published Now You Know, a collection of essays exploring spatial and racial inequality. She is a Fellow at the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose, where her work focuses on state capability and long-term public value.

In 2023, Pooja received the AJ100 Contribution to the Architecture Profession Award, the London Design Festival Innovation Award, and the UKREiiF People and Skills Torchbearer of the Year. She has been nominated several times for the Planner’s Woman of Influence award.

Pooja became CEO of Public Practice in 2021 and leads its strategy, partnerships and advocacy.
