About

Alice is an Architect interested in the history and future of best practice housing, and her architectural interests lie in how designers can seek to improve the quality of living for all. Before joining the Spring Cohort 2024, Alice played a key role at Mæ Architects in designing a later living residential scheme in East London, designed to HAPPI principles. This scheme was closely aligned with her RIBA Silver Presidents Medal and AJ Student Prize nominated masters thesis, Phenomenology and Dementia.

Alice has also been a Project Architect at Weston Rengifo Architects Practice. There, she designed individual homes from conception to completion whilst collaborating with Levitt Bernstein Architects on a large housing estate regeneration scheme for Lewisham Council. Alice has also led several community projects, with her work on a community regeneration project in South West London winning the practice the Thornton Education Trust Award for Youth Engagement.

Spring Cohort 2024

Cornwall Council

As a Senior Housing Strategy Officer at Cornwall Council, Alice was responsible for a diverse range of activities of varying scales. She began by assisting in authoring and co-ordinating the 2024–2025 Housing Strategy Implementation Plan, establishing the team’s values and aims for the year ahead in alignment with the Cornwall Local Plan. This then fed into a number of other reports she helped to produce, including a Housing Prospectus detailing housing projects across the peninsula, and a HRA Own Build Specification, where she illustrated and co-authored design guidance and assisted in the governance processes to secure internal funding to progress and implement quality design decisions across Cornwall Council housing schemes. Alongside this strategic work, she also held a client role in the acquisition of shared ownership and social rent homes across strategic masterplan sites, adding much-needed housing to the HRA portfolio.
