Cinzia De Vincenziis

Place Shaping Lead - Planning Policy

About

Cinzia is an architect and researcher passionate about housing and regeneration and has authored a PhD focused on the role of neighbourhood regeneration in the city. Through multiple-scale analysis, her research offers tools and methodologies for a regeneration programme of public estates that is integrated into the broader urban fabric.

Prior to joining the Spring Cohort 2023, Cinzia's interest in large-scale strategic projects and city-making brought her to Allies and Morrison where she contributed to masterplan and urban design projects, working on strategic mixed-use and industrial-led regeneration schemes as well as public realm and development briefs.

Spring Cohort 2023

London Borough of Newham

During her placement, Cinzia was a Place ShapingBorough of Newham in the Planning Policy Team Lead at London. Her work was primarily focused on reviewing the Local Plan draft, responding to public consultation feedback and reviewing evidence-based documents. In her role, she provided urban design skills and knowledge to lead on the Tall Buildings Policy, reviewing the locations and the nature of tall buildings and producing a Tall Buildings evidence-based document to supplement the Newham Characterisation Study. A key part of her role was undertaking capacity testing of small sites and site allocations that informed the housing land supply in the plan period. She also supported colleagues in updating and enhancing design policies, reviewing design principles of site allocations in the neighbourhood policy, and providing further design advice or input into other thematic areas of the plan.
