Azhar Kapadi

Azhar is an experienced architect with an extensive background in working with both private and public sector clients. Before joining the Autumn 2023 Cohort, he worked on projects of various scales and types, including city centre residential schemes and refurbishment projects for public bodies. He believes in the power of good design to transform and revitalise communities.

In addition to his architectural work, Azhar is also a dedicated youth worker with a passion for working with disadvantaged communities. He has conducted research on the relationship between architecture and politics, specifically focusing on case studies in Croydon and Zanzibar.

Rochdale Borough Council

During his placement as part of our Autumn Cohort 2023, Azhar provided design consultations to the development management team, helping integrate design principles into planning projects. He also contributed to the initial stages of preparing a design code, which was paused due to government planning reforms.
