Local authorities are under increasing pressure to recruit planners and strengthen planning capacity to manage development management backlogs, update local plans and prepare new Spatial Development Strategies.
Public Practice is offering a government-funded salary support programme to help authorities bring experienced built environment professionals into planning roles.
Through the Associate Programme, authorities can access a salary bursary to recruit mid-career professionals from a wider range of disciplines, such as architecture, urban design and environmental science, into planning teams, with structured support to help them transition effectively into public sector planning roles.
This opportunity offers the following and is for local authority hiring managers and strategic leaders looking to strengthen planning teams through multidisciplinary skills and supported career transition pathways.
