Explainer Net Profit Value (NPV) Calculator

Martha Dallyn and Belinda Greenwell drew together a suite of resources to understand and assess viability through their year-long placements at the London Boroughs of Enfield and Sutton (April 2019 - 2020). These are intended as support for Authority officers, and others, to engage with the complexities and terminologies of viability assessment.

This explainer calculator is presented as an educational tool to illustrate the effect that different inputs and estimates of development costs and related factors will have on the outputs, indicating a determination of the Net Present Value (NPV). Indicative figures are used to provide an example of calculation the NPV. Alternate figures can be entered to illustrate the impact upon the NPV.
