Demystifying the governance and decision-making processes of planning committees across England.
Planning committees play a crucial role in shaping the built environment and making decisions on applications that significantly impact communities and development projects. This 90-minute online CPD is designed to equip architects and other built environment professionals with a clear understanding of how planning decisions are made by local authority planning committees in England.
Through this CPD participants will explore the roles of elected members and officers and highlight common pitfalls and top tips for engaging successfully with the planning process.

Format and Accessibillity
The CPD will be hosted live, online via Zoom and will last 90 minutes. There will be a short break during the session, and live captions will be available throughout.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions through the Q&A function and can optionally participate in poll questions. At the end of the session, after completing a feedback form, we will share a written summary of the session with some further reading links.
